 In addition to Lutheran women’s groups in
the United States, organizations were established in other countries in
conjunction with missionaries there. Shown here is the first synodical
meeting of the Women’s Missionary Society, Hsuchang, China of the
Augustana Lutheran Mission in 1931. The otherwise unidentified group
includes: 1. Mrs. Evoida Swenson, president, wife of missionary Rev.
Victor E. Swenson; 2. Miss Su Hsuoh Jang, vice president; 3. Mrs. Rev.
Wan DjiSan, secretary; 4. Miss Loh, treasurer; 5. Miss Anna Anderson; 6.
Djiang U Ju, statistician.
