Lutheran Woman's League Trains Missionary Doctors

In 1926 the Lutheran Woman’s League of Philadelphia and vicinity reported that among the projects for student work was the establishment of two scholarships at the Women’s Medical College of Pennsylvania, each for $5,000; named in honor of alumnae of that institution, Dr. Anna Kugler and Dr. Lydia Woerner, another early India medical missionary. The hope was to train additional medical workers for Lutheran mission fields.
