Simon Peter Lutheran Church
StSimons2.jpg (37348 bytes)Simon Peter was organized in 1965 as a merger of St. Simon's (1889, General Synod) and St. Peter's (1895, General Council). It was located at 1540 N. Spaulding Ave., in St. Simon's old church building. St. Peter's building was sold in 1966.

In 1980 Rev. Malcolm Shutters accepted the call to serve Simon Peter, along with his other call at Wicker Park Lutheran.

In 1986 the church building was sold to the Salvation and Deliverance Full Gospel Church with the stipulation that Simon Peter be allowed to use the building rent free for the next 10 years. In December 1991, however, Simon Peter disbanded.
