Association of Lutheran Resource Centers
Who We Are:

Formed in May of 1996, the ALRC aims to provide a structure that will:
  • create positive recognition of resource center ministry throughout the ELCA
  • support and encourage members
  • provide help for developing resource centers
  • carry out advocacy to bring an adequate level of resource services to congregations throughout the ELCA
  • represent the concerns of resource centers and resource center staff to ELCA churchwide units and staff.
  • assist the responsible churchwide units to direct the flow of resources from Augsburg Fortress and from churchwide units to appropriate centers.

Membership in the ALRC is open to all Resource Centers that actively provide resource services to ELCA congregations, agencies or institutions.

An annual full membership fee of $100.00 provides:

  • the informative quarterly ALRC newsletter
  • increased support through peer networking
  • opportunities for partnering with other Centers
  • advocacy for Resource Center ministry
  • reduced registration rates for ALRC meetings and events
  • enhanced image, identity, and credibility for member centers
  • increased opportunities for financial support
  • discount on the purchase of the ReQuest Manager Software
Resource Centers have served Lutheran congregations for many years. In the last 20 years, we have seen this ministry spread from the East Coast through the Midwest to the West Coast, so that today there are approximately 70 Resource Centers serving congregations in every Synod or Region throughout the ELCA. -- Catherine Fink, Former President, ALRC
