Director of Lay Ministries Job Description
Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, Iowa

It will be the job of the director of lay ministries to encourage and promote volunteerism and small group development in order to support the mission of the church and enhance the spiritual life and growth of its partners and participants.

The director of lay ministries will work under the supervision of the senior pastor and in cooperation with other staff and boards of the congregation:

To support other staff and attend weekly staff meeting

To participate in continuing education, and some committee, board and council meetings

To maintain time and talent file on partners and participants

To recruit or assist in the recruitment of volunteers

To work with new partners and orient them to volunteer opportunities and assist them in becoming integrated into the life of the congregation

To perform such other duties as the senior pastor should request from time to time.

The director of lay ministries will be a full-time salaried position. Medical reimbursement, vacation and holidays in keeping with the staff benefits plan.
