Environmental Advocacy
The
ELCA social statement Caring for Creation: Vision, Hope, and
Justice recently celebrated its 10th year since being adopted by
the Churchwide Assembly in 1993. To learn more about the
ways in which the ELCA does advocacy, and its relationship to
the social statements of the church, explore "how
and why the ELCA does advocacy" on this site.
Environmental education and advocacy is part of the
justice-seeking ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The principles of
participation, solidarity, sufficiency and sustainability guide our
work as we strive to serve the common good.
