Governance Proposal
About Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
The Program Unit for Church in Society has been facing challenges
for some years with two process problems related to our Corporate
Social Responsibility (CSR) work. These problems have too often
resulted in our being out of step with our ecumenical partners, and
inconsistent in implementing the ELCA’s social policy on shareholder
work.
In light of these difficulties, the Advisory Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility is unanimously recommending to the board of the Program Unit for Church and Society, and through the board the ELCA Church Council, a revision in process.
