CSR Church Council Actions

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has a long history of working for justice in corporate social responsibility. The work in the corporate sector is based in our social policy, governed by the constitution of the ELCA:

The Advisory Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility (ACCSR), responsible to the ELCA Church Council through the Program Unit for Church in Society, carries responsibility for working closely with staff of the Program Unit for Church in Society in carrying out these responsibilities. This work uses the tools of screening of investments, shareholder advocacy and community investing to work with corporations, calling them to ensure that people are treated fairly and with dignity and to create sustainable communities.
